PTV Sports is to be a 24-hour Pakistani sports channel. The PTV Sports test transmission began emanating from AsiaSat 3S at an orbit of 105.5ºE on 30 December 2011. According to Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Pakistan's minister of information and broadcasting, the process of digitisation should be complete by December 2012. It belongs to the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV). An agreement worth USD 45 million signed between PTV and Zee TV was aimed at only promoting and broadcasting sports events on the state-run channel.
